Stone Manor Studios is located on the grounds of an 1860s stone manor house in the heart of Rideau Lakes. The renovated carriage house has been repurposed as an exclusive art studio for creatives. People gather to learn from experts in their fields, engage in meaningful conversations about art, and are provided with an unforgettable experience that will inspire, refresh, and enrich the creative heart and mind. It is the perfect surroundings to immerse yourself in one of our art retreats.
We imagine a place where creativity flourishes; where imaginations are fed with expert instruction and extended conversations; where we gather to explore deeper meanings to improve or develop our creative skills; and where the experience we share at Stone Manor Studios will renew and inspire our individual talents and enrich our communities for years to come.
We offer weekend and week-long art retreats as well as special pop-up workshops in a spacious and newly renovated art studio. Participants have full use of 2.3 acres of forest & grounds for quiet walks and gathering. Quality teaching from respected instructors offer classes that balance theory and practical teaching. At Stone Manor Studios, we add pre-and post-class events meant to inspire and delight the senses, build community, and reinforce learning.
Artists have many tools to acquire new skills online, from books, & magazines, and classes. An immersive, sustained period of study offers more profound learning opportunities. Our art retreats provide an inspired time and space for your work.
Stone Manor Studios offers an unforgettable setting that stimulates creativity, taking you out of the studio to find a new perspective. Try one of our art retreats or art classes. It refreshes and resets the creative self.
Stone Manor Studios allows you to focus, removing all the daily tasks that compete with creativity. External constraints are removed. The day is about practicing your art. Our art retreat model allows for the necessary time to tap into your creativity for complete focus and renewal.
Finding like-minded individuals who share your passion for creativity creates a more extensive community from whom you will find inspiration, wisdom, and friendship & leading to future professional opportunities. Our art retreats bring together like-minded individuals in a stimulating environment away from the constraints of everyday life.
Creativity is dynamic and fluid, and with a sustained experience of making art in a weekend workshop or a week-long art retreat, new questions and ideas may open up new problems to solve in one's endeavors. The location of our art studio stimulates creativity and connection as you step back in time, away from your everyday life, and tap into your creative self.
Making time for art is a priority that will reinvigorate the heart and mind. At Stone Manor Studios, our art retreats are designed to help you reconnect, reflect, and recharge.
Stone Manor Studios recognizes that it was established on the ancestral lands of the Anishinaabeg, Huron-Wendat, and Haudenosaunee peoples, which are covered by the Upper Canada Treaties. These lands have long been the traditional territory of the Arendarhonan, Huron-Wendat Nation, Oneida, Haudenosaunee Nation, and Mississaugas, Anishinaabeg Nation.
As settlers, we express gratitude to the generations of people who have called this land home and appreciate the opportunity to live and collaborate on Turtle Island. We acknowledge the historical impact of our ancestors' arrival, including the injustices and inequalities that continue to affect communities today. Together, we strive to heal these wounds and work towards a more equitable and inclusive future for all.
